Bronkosol
Class:
Sympathomimetic (ß2 selective).
Actions:
Bronchodilation, increases heart rate.
Indications:
Asthma, reversible bronchospasm associated with chronic bronchitis and
emphysema.
Contraindications:
Patients with history of hypersensitivity to the drug.
Precautions:
Blood pressure, pulse, and EKG must be constantly monitored.
Side Effects:
Palpitations, tachycardia, anxiety and tremors, headache.
Dosage:
Hand nebulizer: four inhalations.
Small-volume nebulizer: 0.5 ml (1:3 with saline).
Routes:
Inhalation only.
Pediatric Dosage:
0.25-0.5 ml diluted with 4 ml normal saline.
